Mission, Strategy, Values
The general mission of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is to train specialists in the fields of: veterinary medical assistance, specialized veterinary consulting, the breeding and selection of animal species of economic interest, specialized consulting for pets, animal welfare and environmental protection, biology and animal biochemistry, expertise and technology of food products as well as in their related fields, mainly for the sectors of production, services, research and development, education, consultancy, agribusiness, insurance, administration and management of integrated agricultural production, etc. The didactic mission is to train veterinarians specialized in animal health management, ensuring the traceability and safety of food of animal origin, being capable of integrating into the complex national and European veterinary sanitary activity. Pedagogical and methodical training activities are also in the faculty’s attention to train future graduates so that they become part of the teaching staff in pre-university and university education. The scientific research mission consists in training and developing the scientific and research skills of students and graduates. Another mission of the faculty is that of continuous training of graduates through postgraduate and doctoral studies and participation in the Program related to the National Continuing Education System, initiated by the General Association of Romanian Veterinarians, College of Veterinary Medicine, National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority, and the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine in the country.
Strategic objectives
Providing appropriate, research-based veterinary training that prepares graduates to practice as veterinarians immediately after graduation
Continuation of the process of consolidation and optimization of the disciplines aligned to the profile of the graduate in order to be able to guarantee the highly competent training of the institution’s graduates in the spirit of the general principles for the veterinary profession regulated and recommended by EAEVE
The development of the education plan and the orientation of the disciplines of the Control and Expertise of Food Products study program
The curriculum will ensure the development of the ability to think critically, to reason, to acquire the conclusions of scientific articles or research, to carry out small research and documentation projects, but also to permanently improve IT skills
- Strategic partnerships will be developed in order to mobilize expertise through academic exchanges (Erasmus+), to create centers of excellence, as well as to improve the international visibility of FVM and UASVM of Bucharest

List of full-time DSC teaching staff
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is financed from different sources, but there are always too few funds for its essential activities. These requirements have become more acute recently, due to the need for additional funds for the renovation of the “Preclinical Departments” building, following the fire of August 10th, 2002, which completely destroyed the roof.
There are many possibilities through which donations or sponsorships can be made to our faculty; they will be exposed below. The important thing is that there are guarantees regarding the fact that the donations will be used as the financier, i.e. you, wishes.
Types of donations
* Annual, current donations
They may be intended for use by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to satisfy certain priorities or may be intended for a specific purpose or special program. The donation is usually used in the year in which it is received.
* Permanent donation
Such donations allow long-term planning. Their destination can be established by the financier (scholarships, equipment, constructions, investments, organization of scientific events, etc.).
* Life insurance
A life insurance policy may indicate the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine as the beneficiary.
* Memorial donations
In memory of a deceased animal or as a tribute to someone living who deserves special consideration, donations can be made to the faculty or to one of its departments.
Types of goods that can be donated
* Cash
The donation can be used by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (must be accompanied by written instructions that establish how it should be used).
*Equipment and materials
Donations in the form of equipment and materials will be made to the faculty.
* Guarantees (property titles)
Guarantees (such as shares, contracts, certificates of deposit, etc.) can be donated to FVM.
* Properties
A property can be transferred to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (with specific instructions) naming it as beneficiary.
How do you want the donation to be used?
The donation will be used in the manner desired by the donor – from training students in veterinary medicine to research activity to improve the health and welfare of animals.
* Scholarships
The scholarships provide funds to help students during the 6 years of study, to obtain the title of Veterinarian.
Currently there is the Merit Scholarship “Prof. Dr. Aurel Popoviciu”, offered monthly to the best students from each year of study.
* Special projects
Donations can be made to support a project, such as caring for stray animals.
* Research
Donations for research contribute through the results obtained to the improvement of animal health, the control of diseases and the increase of animal welfare. Donations can be addressed to a specific research center within the faculty, which is of interest to the donor.
* Expanded possibilities
The faculty buildings require continuous modernization in order to be able to practice veterinary medicine at the highest standards. FVM must continuously improve the conditions in the veterinary hospital, laboratory research, lecture halls, etc.
